Welcome from Co-op Academy Bebington
Dear Parents, Carers, and Friends of Co-op Academy Bebington,
Welcome to our Summer newsletter. As we reach the end of the academic year, I am writing to you with an immense sense of pride and gratitude. This milestone marks the completion of my first year as your Headteacher, and what an extraordinary, busy, and rewarding year it has been.
Stepping into this role last September, my goal was to build upon our academy's strong foundations, foster our core Co-op values, and ensure that every single student has the support and opportunities they need to thrive. Over the past three terms, I have been continuously inspired by the resilience, kindness, and ambition shown by our young people, as well as the unwavering dedication of our staff and the fantastic support from you, our families.
Looking through this Summer newsletter, you will see a wonderful reflection of the vibrant school life we share. From the incredible teamwork on our Duke of Edinburgh and PGL residential trips to our green-fingered initiatives in Eco Club, our students have consistently gone above and beyond. We have celebrated outstanding creativity with our dancers at the Wirral Schools Dance Festival and the cast of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, seen immense personal growth through the Year 10 stay at Jamie’s Farm, and witnessed our Year 9 Mentors in Violence Prevention lead the way in supporting our younger students.
I am also absolutely delighted to share two major achievements from across the wider Co-op Academies Trust. Huge congratulations to Josh Long, who has been named the Trust-Wide Young Musician of the Year—an incredible testament to his talent and hard work! Furthermore, we are celebrating our brilliant team members who achieved Trust-Wide Staff Recognition Awards this term, proving what we already know: our staff go above and beyond every single day. To cap off a phenomenal term, I must also extend a final congratulations to our Year 11 football team, who showed incredible grit and composure to be crowned the Wirral Cup Champions at Prenton Park!
As we look ahead, please do take note of the important dates listed below for our return in September, including our upcoming Open Evenings and celebration events.
Thank you for making my first year at Co-op Academy Bebington so incredibly welcoming and memorable. I wish you all a safe, restful, and happy summer break, and I look forward to welcoming our students back in September for another fantastic year together.
Warmest regards,
Jane Whisker
