PGL
This summer term, the PE department took 53 students on a PGL residential weekend to take part in a series of adventurous activities and fun!
The students worked in small groups to support one another through fear-breaking tasks and challenges, such as the giant swing, zip wire, abseiling, archery tag, rifle shooting and kayaking. Students were commended for their impeccable behaviour whilst representing the school to the highest standard. An awards evening at the end of the trip celebrated H. Middleton as 'Fear Breaker of the Trip', A. Swan as 'The Ultimate Team Player', Z. Lloyd as 'Daredevil of the Trip', and C. Lubbe as 'The Unsung Hero of the Trip', to name a few.
An excellent weekend was had by all!

Eco
Mrs Hopkins would like to take this chance to say a big thank you and well done to any pupil who has taken part in Eco activities this year.
From litter picking to a trip to Manchester Coop Live, every action has helped make our school community a greener and happier place.
We are in the final stages of submitting our Green Flag application, so fingers crossed all our hard work will receive national recognition too.
Eco club will start back up again in September – all pupils from any year group are welcome!

Wirral Schools Dance Festival
Our talented dancers recently took to the stage at the Floral Pavilion for the Wirral Schools Dance Festival, performing brilliantly in both the matinee and evening showcases.
They were an absolute credit to our school from start to finish.
Beyond their fantastic performances, what made us proudest was their incredible team spirit. They supported each other beautifully through the pre-show nerves and showed wonderful kindness and generosity to fellow performers throughout the entire day.

Mentors in Violence Prevention
Our Year 9 Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) students have successfully completed their training and delivered their final PSHE sessions to Year 7.
Throughout the programme, students explored crucial topics including gender-based violence, bullying, and challenging harmful attitudes, while actively promoting resilience and positive mental health across our school community.
A huge well done to our incredible mentors! The maturity and confidence you displayed while delivering such sensitive topics was absolutely outstanding. This sentiment was echoed by all the staff who were privileged to witness your lessons. You should be incredibly proud of the positive impact you have made.
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to the MYA RAISE Team, and specifically to Mia from the MVP team, for providing such an outstanding, thought-provoking, and impactful training programme for our students.

Duke of Edinburgh Award
Our Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme got off to an excellent start earlier this term with a successful weekend in Cheshire.
A strong group of Year 9 and Year 10 students completed their Bronze Expedition, showing great resilience and teamwork despite some very mixed weather conditions. Everyone had a fantastic time, learnt valuable outdoor skills, and should be incredibly proud of their brilliant achievement!

Jamie's Farm
A group of our Year 10 students traded their school shoes for wellies recently for an unforgettable week at Jamie’s Farm. I
It was a complete shift in gear from the usual school routine, giving the students a unique chance to live and work as part of a busy, thriving farm family.
Everyone got stuck into the daily routines, whether that meant mucking out the livestock, feeding the animals, or helping the farmers manage the land. It wasn’t just about the physical outdoor work, though; the students also took full charge of the kitchen, working together to prep and cook fresh, communal meals for the whole group.
What was most impressive was seeing the group channel their natural energy into the life of the farm. Away from the four walls of a classroom, they took on massive amounts of responsibility with a real sense of purpose. We saw them step up as natural leaders, using their voices to coordinate tasks and support one another when the work got tough.
They have returned to school with a bit more mud on their clothes, but an immense amount of pride in what they achieved. Jamie’s Farm aims to help young people "maximise their potential," and seeing this group in action, it’s clear they have done exactly that.
A huge well done to our Year 10s for their hard work and for representing our school community so brilliantly!

Wirral World Cup Champions
We are absolutely thrilled to share some fantastic news from Prenton Park. Our Year 11 football team are officially the Wirral Cup Champions after a thrilling final that went right down to the wire.
It was a rollercoaster of a match from start to finish. We took an early lead thanks to a brilliant goal from Jack G, but found ourselves trailing 2-1 as the clock ticked down. Showing incredible character and grit, the boys kept pushing. Caleb J found the back of the net to grab a well-deserved equaliser in the final 15 minutes, showing immense resilience just moments after we had missed a penalty.
With the score locked at 2-2 at the final whistle, the game headed to a nerve-wracking penalty shootout. The hero of the hour was undoubtedly Warren B, who pulled off two fantastic saves to deny the opposition and secure the trophy.
The entire squad gave a masterclass in composure under pressure. We would also like to commend Pensby High School for their fantastic efforts; we were proud to share the pitch with them.
To say we are proud is an understatement. It is an incredible achievement for the team to round off their time at Co-op Academy Bebington with a trophy in their final year before leaving us. Huge congratulations to all involved!
