I'm Melanie, I am the Academy community pioneer for Co-op Academy Bebington.

My name is Melanie, and I am the Community Pioneer for Bebington secondary school. I am a mum and volunteer for two different groups on the Wirral. My interest in the role was to support the community I have lived in all my life, and I believe that every child should have opportunities to succeed. The role allows me to link the school to the local community and support each other to create an inclusive and thriving area to live. 

I have been in the role since December 2024 and the first project was with the food donations to the local area. Filling up bags of shopping and gifts for so many families made me realise why this is such an important role. I really enjoy planning the future of the community shop with a new look and better displays. 

If you want to help your local community overcome hardship, build a support network and improve children and their families, this is the role for you.
