World Poetry Day

Happy World Poetry Day!
To celebrate the power of words, our staff have been displaying their favourite poems around the school.
Some of our students have been inspired to write their own.
‘Victory’ by Shakur (Y8)
The moonlight brushed my shadow thin
As the stars kept secrets deep within.
No sword was drawn, no war was won,
Yet still, I rose before the sun.
On quiet paths the wise they tread,
“I found the truth,” the silence said.
A whispered name, a breath, a flame
And all was returned to the same.
Now Dusk and Dawn both know my face,
I’ve danced with time in sacred space,
Not claimed by a throne, nor bound by a prize,
But crowned beneath unseen skies.
