Extended Project Qualification

Extended Project Qualification (AQA)
Entry Requirements: 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English.
Is this course for me?
The EPQ is an additional enrichment subject (equivalent to half an A Level) that allows students to plan and carry out their own academic study. Students are taught a range of study and research skills, and are guided to plan and produce a study on an academic study area of their choice. They produce a written report. By completing this, students become more critical, reflective and independent learners and increase their planning, research, analysis, synthesis evaluation and presentation skills.
Where does it lead?
This course is highly valued by universities as it prepares students for academic dissertations. It also provides additional UCAS points assisting with university applications.
How will I be assessed?
Students produce a production log outlining the process of researching the project (this is assessed and submitted). Students produce an extended essay or artefact in the case of art’s projects, and have to complete a presentation outlining the process.
