Entry Requirements: 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English.

Is this course for me?

Cambridge OCR Level 3 Alternative Academic Qualification Cambridge Advanced National in IT: Data Analytics in Data Analytics is for students aged 16-19 years old. It will develop knowledge, understanding and skills that will help prepare you for progression to undergraduate study and are relevant to the information technology sector. You might be interested in this qualification if you want to apply what you learn to practical, real-life contexts, such as: 

  • Planning, developing and reviewing spreadsheet data models that meet the needs of a client.
  • Planning, developing and reviewing relation databases that meet the needs of a client.
  • Planning, communicating and reviewing Internet of Everything (IoE) solutions that meet the needs of a client.
  • Planning, developing and reviewing data visualisation solutions through the use of data dashboards that meet the needs of a client.
  • Planning, developing and reviewing digital marketing campaigns that meet the needs of a client.

The qualification will also help you develop independence and confidence in using skills that are relevant to the sector and that prepare you for progressing to university courses where independent study skills are needed. You will develop transferable skills that can be used in both higher education and other life and work situations

Where does it lead?

Many of our students have gone on to study Computing, IT and Cybersecurity at university and others have been highly successful on apprenticeship schemes in a range of IT related industries. The focus on independent working and technological awareness are invaluable across a wide range of areas.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed at points throughout the two years by a combination of examinations and coursework projects and will have the opportunity to sit each examination a maximum of twice in order to achieve the maximum possible grade.
